National Gallery, Merrion-square, west. [...] To the left of the vestibule is the Dargan Hall, which contains a large and well-chosen collection of casts from the antique. The rest of the floor is given up to the National Portrait Collection.

National Gallery [...] Returning through the Dargan Hall, and going up the grand staircase, the fine Italian Gallery is reached. Another flight of stairs leads to the Turner room, beyond which are English, Flemish, and Dutch pictures, and the varied Miltown collection of pictures, and other objects of art, presented by the Countess of Miltown in memory of her late husband.
