Exhibitions. [...] 1853. The great Industrial Exhibition was started by William Dargan, who placed £26,000 at the disposal of the Royal Dublin Society ; the buildings, designed by Sir John Benson, were erected on Leinster Lawn. It was visited by the Queen and Prince Consort.
