Lantern slide of a Thosel, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 IV 50' and with the title 'Thosel - Malton.' This slide depicts an illustration done by James Maltonatthe very end of the 18th century. The word "Thosel" comes from the old english English words "toll" and "sael" meaing tax and hall. During the medieval ages it was an important building that acted as a guildhall. custom house, and court house. In Dublin. the Thosel was a medieval building that was rebuilt in 1682. Unfortunatly the uilding was demolished in 1820.
