Lantern slide of an illustration of Essex Bridge (now known as Grattan Bridge) Co. Dublin. Originally catalogued with labels 'D3VII 96' and 'Brooking's Map.' Depicts an illustration of the statue of King George 1 on horseback, which was situated on the bridge until 1798, with a view of the original bridge and the river and city houses beyond it. An inscription on the slige reads 'The statue of King George 1st on Essex Bridge.' The illustration may be from Charles Brooking's map of the city.
