Description
Lantern slide of a round tower, Swords, Co. Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 III 32' and with the title 'Swords.' This round tower was once part of a monastic enclosure founded by St. Colmcille in 515. It is entered through a lintelled doorway on the east side. The tower comprises of four storeys, and its interior is lit by square-headed windows. There is a Latin cross decorating the apex of the tower. A man can be seen standing in front of the structure.
