Description
Lantern slide of a fire place found at no. 5 Gardiners Row, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 57' with title'5 Gardiners Row.'. The fireplace appears to made of marble and is flanked by two large ionic columns. The columns supports an entablature that makes up the rest of the mantlepiece. At the centure is a sculptured plaque decorated with animals and vegetation. On top of the mantlepiece are various household decorations. The firepace is located on Gardiners Row in the north inner-city. This street was added in 1769 to Palace Row and Cavendish Row to develop Parnell Square.
