            Opis
Lantern slide depicting the High Cross in Clonmacnoise monastic site in Clonmacnoise, Co. Offaly. Originally titled 'CLONMACNOISE + of FlaND T. MASON,5, DAME STREET, DUBLIN, C.I' and labelled 'K4 42'. The monument depicted is the High Cross, or South Cross. The South Cross has multiple scenes from the bible carved onto it, and was moved from its original position in 1991 amd replaced with replicas in order to protect these carvings. Indeed, in the image depcited it can be seen that the cross was in a delapidated state.
