Opis
Lantern slide depicting the gable end of the church known as Temple Melaghlin in the monastic site of Clonmacnoise, Co. Offaly. Originally without a titled and labelled 'K3 56'. In addition to the monument a man can be seen sitting in the foreground. The monument is known as both Temple Melaghlin and Temple Ri, which translated into English is 'Church of Kings'. These names are due to the fact that at least seven generations of Melaghlin Kings, or the Kings of Meath, are said to be buried here. This monument was built c.1200. The moulded east windows are in the style of late Romanesque/Gothic. The image itself depicts the twin windows at the East gable end of the monument.
