Lantern slide depicting a cross in Monasterboice, Co. Louth. Originally titled 'Crucificion from Monasterboice (The tallest cross.)' and labelled L5 23. The monument is found in an old monastic settlement in Monasterboice. The slide shows the West side of the cross known as both the Tall Cross or the West Cross. The iconography depicted on this area is of a fully clothed Jesus Christ being crucified. The slide shows only the very centre of the cross, which is the tallest monument of its kind in Ireland.
