Lantern slide showing Govenor Walker's Monument in Derry City, Co. Derry. Originally without a titled and labelled 'L3 3'.It was built in the 1820s as a monument to Rev. George Walker, the rector of Donaghmore, Co. Tyrone, who came to Derry prior to the Siege of 1688-89. The monument was 90 feet in height with a statue of Walker at the top. It had an internal staircase and viewing platform. The monument was blown up on the 27th of August 1973, and due to souvenir seekers little remains of the ruins today. In the image several people can be seen in the foreground
