Lantern slide showing a drawing of the eastern side of Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny. Originally labelled 'K3 94' and titled 'The east side of the Castle of Kilkenny with part of Town 1699.' The drawing was made by Francis Place in 1699. St. Canice's Cathedral, also known as Kilkenny Cathedral, and the Bishop's Palace can be seen. The drawing serves as a record of how the Castle looked prior to its reconstruction in the 18th and 19th centuries. The slide can be seen on Plate X in Volume 4, Number 1, published June 30, 1934 in the Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland.
