Original dome

Description

Lantern slide of fire damage on the exterior of the Irish Houses of Parliament, Co. Dublin. Originally catalogued with label 'D3 VIII 46'. Depicts an illustration showing the fire in the Irish House of Commons chamber of the Parliament House (Bank of Ireland) building designed by architect Edward Lovett Pearce. The architectural elevation shows the dome being destroyed by a fire in the 1790s. The House of Commons chamber was rebuilt by 1796 without the dome.
