Title
Marrowbone Lane, Dublin City, Co. Dublin, Ireland
Description
Lantern slide of a sketch of a house on Marrowbone Lane, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 IV 41' and without a title. There is an inscription on the slide itself reading 'Old House in Marrowbone Lane.' This sketch is taken from The Dublin Penny Journal, Vol. 1, No. 24, February 16, 1883. In the drawing there is the date '1713' and the intials of the founder and his wife's name above the top window (W P K). On the door there is the name 'Ben Clayton'. The house is built in Dutch Billy style - a style made popular by the influx of foreign merchants into the city. Unfortunatly the building no longer exists as it was demolished in 1813.
