Description

Lantern slide of Digges Street Upper, Dublin City. Originally labeled 'D3 IV 34' and with the title 'Digges Street.' Most of the houses on Digges St. were built during the second phases of the Aungier estate (mid- 1720s onwards). The houses follow the Dutch Billy style with gabeled fronts. These types of houses were built as a result of the booming merchant trade happening during this period.
