Beschrijving
Lantern slide of Lambay Island , Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 II 82' with the title 'Lambay Dublin 1921.' Lambay Island has a rich history dating as far back to the Neolithic period. The building in the slide is a family home that incorporates a 15th century castle into its design. It was bought by Cecil Baring in 1904 in hopes of turning the island into a place for his wife and children to live a quiet life. The house was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, a famous Arts and Crafts architect. The aim was to blend this new house and castle seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
