Description

Lantern slide of Blessington House, Co. Wicklow. Originally labeled 'D3 II 37' and with the title 'Blessington.' This house was belong to Michael Boyle, Archbishop of Armagh and was built in 1673. The house burnt during the rebellion in 1798 and all that remains is a stairwell that leads to a barrel-vaulted chamber. The slide is of a lithograph of the house c. 1675.
