Descrição

Lantern slide of an architectural drawing of Dunsoghly Castle, Co. Dublin. Originally catalogued with label "D3XI 95." Depicts a drawing of an elevation (a flat representation of a facade) of Dunsoghly Castle, with scale measurements. The drawing focuses particularly on an arched doorway, and shows a close-up depiction of the decorative arch mould. It is noted on the drawing that the plan was measured by J.A. Geoghegan, G.G. Lyons, and Louise F. Giron and plotted by Louis F. Giron, in 1916. Dunsoghy Castle is a 15th century fortified tower house, the only one in Ireland to retain its orignal trussed roof. It was built by Sir Thomas Plunkett, and was occupied by his descendants until the 1870s.
