Lantern slide depicting the laying of the first stone of Nelson's Pillar on O'Connell Street. The stone was laid by the Lieutenant Charles Duke of Richmond on February 15th 1808. An engraving on the slide reads 'His Grace the Duke of Richmond laying the first stone of Nelson's Column (?) '. Originally catalogued as ' D 3 VIII, 98' with no further labelling.
