Description

Lantern slide of Killiney Church, Co. Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 III 27' and with the title '20/9. Old Doorway. Killiney Ch.' This church has been dated to the eleventh century, although it is thought that it may have been occupied from the sixth century as an ecclesiastical settlement. The original structure would have consisted of a simple nave and choir connected by a semi-circular arch. Pictured is the original doorway which is located in the centre of the west gable.
