Opis
Lantern slide of Drimnagh Castle, Co. Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 III 16' and with the title 'Drimnagh Castle Co. Dub.' In 1215 the lands of Drimnagh were granted to Hugo de Bernivale, a Norman knight and it was on these grounds he built this castle. This 13th century structure was built from local limestone, and consists of a Great Hall, a medieval undercroft and a large battlement. Another notable feature is the garden surrounding the castle with its many plants grown for medicinal, culinary and decorative purposes.
