Опис
Lantern slide of a doorway Gardiner Row, Dublin City. Originally labeled 'D3 III 57' and with the title '2 Gardiners Row. Rutland Square.' Now known as the Castle Hotel, this Georgian House was once one of a pair. The houses were designed by John Ensor, a pupil of Richard Castle. The house has functioned as a hotel since 1809 when it was known as the Norfolk Hotel. The building is a fine example of Georgian architecture and still retains original features. The front door (pictured) consists of 8 panels and is flanked by two ionic columns which support an entablature. There is a semicircular fanlight above the door and there is also two rectangular panes of glass on either side of the columns.
