Description

Lantern slide of Tully Church, Laughanstown, Co. Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 III 41' with the title 'Tully Church Co. Dublin.' At present, the church lies in ruin, but some features still survive. The chancel is entered through a 13th-century round arch, and there are also round arched windows in the east gable. The nave still remains and is the earliest part of the building. The church is located in the Dublin Mountains, and was an early diocesan centre. It is known that by the 8th century, the church was linked to 8 bishops.
