Opis
Lantern slide of a carved stone found at St. Molaise's House, Devenish Island, Co. Fermanagh. Originally labeled '73 F' with title 'St. Molaise's House Devenish. N.E. Corner Pilaster. East Face.' This carved stone woud have formed part of the base of a pillaster. It appears that the decoraton has been badly weathered. The site was founded by St. Molaise in Lower Lough Erne in the 1st century A.D. On the site is a 12th century round tower and a small church dedicated to St Molaise which dates from the 12th or 13th century. These images have been found in the JRSAI, 7th Series, Vol. 5, 1935.
