Description

Lantern slide of a high cross, Galoon, Co. Fermanagh. Originally labeled '37 F' and without a title. It is believed that St. Tiernan founded the monastery on the island. There was once four High Crosses located in the graveyard, but only two shafts remain. The slide shows the east face of the East Cross. Depicted are three figures with interlace above their heads. This scene is believed to be The Sacrifice of Isaac although some argue it is a Ressurection scene.
