Description
Lantern slide of a ringfort at Carrowntemple Inishmaan, Co. Galway. Originally labeled '73' with title 'Interior of Aran Island. Cashel. Kilronan.' On the bottom written in pencil is the correct title 'Interior Dun Conor.' This oval shaped casual goes by the name Doen Chonchoeir locally. The Cashel comprises of dry stone rampart with up to three levels of terracing and interconnecting steps internally. There are a number of clochans inside, one of which is visible in the image.
