Description

Lantern slide of St. Nicholas's Church, Co. Galway. Originally labeled '56 G' with title 'S. Nicholas' Galway.' The slide depicts a rather candid view of the church that is pictured between two contemporary buildings. There is debate to when construction on the church started but it is certain that it was finished by 1320. Located in the centre of the medieval city, it is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra the patron saint of children and mariners.
