Description

Lantern slide of no. 14 Rutland Square, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 100' with title 'Rutland Square.' The square was renamed Parnell Square in 1933. It is considered one of the finest Georgian Squares in Dublin and is also the earliest. The wall in the slide has been painted in classical style with a reclining female figure. The figure is painted amongst a woodland scene. There is a decorative cornice underneath the painting, and below a mirror and a framed picture. No. 41 has a rich history, with it being of great importance around the period of the War of Independence.
