Opis
Lantern slide of Rutland Square, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 73' with title 'Rutland Square.' Now called Parnell Square. The development of the square folowed the constuction of a maternity hospital built by Dr. Bartholomew Mosse in 1757. Between the years 1753 and 1785, plots were leased from land owners and streets were laid out. Majority of the houses on the square were built during the late 1700s. The square was later renamed Parnell Square in 1933. It is considered one of the finest Georgian Squares in Dublin and is also the earliest. The bottom half of this building features rustication with two arched windows and a door. At present, the door is closed up and is now another window. A cast iron railing encloses the building, and three window guards of the same materia, adorn the above windows.
