Descrição
Lantern slide of the interior of the Nation Museum of Ireland - Archaeology, Dublin. Originally labelled 'D3 8' and without a title. The National Museum of Ireland opened on August 29th 1890, after it's foundation under the Dublin Science and Art Museum Act of 1877. The building on Kildare street was custom built to house the Leinster House collections which had previously been scattered accross various buildings in the city. This slide details display cabinets which can be seen holding items displayed in the museum. To the left, a marble sculpture of possibly the three graces is shown. Slender cast iron columns can be seen holding the balcony upright, which have been decorated with elaborate capitals and cherubs.
