Description

Lantern slide depicting graveslabs being kept in the Cathedral in Clonmacnoise, Co. Offaly. Originally without a title and labelled 'K4 5'. As Clonmacnoise was a favored spot for Kings and dignitaries in Ireland in the 6th to 7th century, many of the gravestones are inscribed with their name. There are over 700 in Clonmacnoise and only a selection of them are depicted in this image. The stones are now kept in a visitor centre in Clonmacnoise.
