Description

Lantern Slide of the entrance to Great Connell Graveyard, the last remnant of Great Connell Priory . Originally labelled '29:14' and 'K2 I 3'with the title 'Great Connell Kildare'. Sections of the entrance are made from parts of the tomb of Prior Walter Wellesly. These were moved to Kildare Cathedral in 1971. The exact location of the entrance could not be established.
