Lantern slide of the Pillar of Coad, Co. Clare. Originally catalogued with labels 'C3 11' and '3, The Pillar of Coad Co. Clare 1913'. Depicted is the Pillar of Coad, also known as the Coad Standing Stone, with Dr. George Unthank Macnamara of Corofin standing to the left. There are a number of legends that speculate in relation to te height of The Coad Stone. One legend claims that the stone was the same height as King Teige Acomhad O Brien about 1460.
