Description

Lantern slide of Drumanagh Fort, Co. Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 II' with the title 'Drumanagh Fort Co. Dublin 1927.' Drumanagh is a large coastal fort located in north Co. Dublin. Although there has been no official archaeological excavation of the site, there has been artifacts found of Roman origin. There has been much debate regarding the fort, with some believing it is Roman, and others believing it to be a local training station linking Ireland to Roman Britain. In the slide the fort can be seen in the corner situated on high sea cliffs.
