Lantern slide of a cairn, Howth. Originally labeled 'D3 II 86' and with the title 'Cross Cairn Howth 1921.' This is a small cairn of stones located on elevated ground. It has been referred to as the 'Cross Cairn' and 'St. Patrick's Cross. 'Standing at this cairn, there are extensive views to be seen of the coast up to Wicklow. A cairn is a man-made pile of stones, with the world deriving from Scottish Gaelic.
