Beschrijving

Lantern slide of a plan of Dunsoghly Castle, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 II 43' and with the tile 'RSAI. Dunsoughly Dub.' The castle was build around the 15th century by Sir Thomas Plunket. It consists of a four-storey central block with square corner towers. Although it has been slightly replaced, the 15th/16th century roof is the last surviving in the country. The plan highlights the stairs that are located in the north-east of the castle and the chapel to the south. Over the door '1573' is inscribed along with the initials of John Plunked and his wife. Also present in the plan are the wedge-shaped windows and door.
