Description
Lantern slide of a door of St. Fintan's Church Kill O' the Grange, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 II 30' with title 'West Door, Kill of the Grange.' Kill O' the Grange comes from the Irish meaning 'Church of the Granary', as the area was known for its grain farms. St. Fintin's Church, also known as Church of the Grange, is now in ruin and has been in a state of disrepair since the 17th century. The original monastic site was founded in the 6th century, and the structure we see today replaced the older monastic building in the 11th century. The slide shows a view of the west door, which is over grown with foliage.
