Опис

Lantern slide of the Long Room, Trinity College Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 II 7' and with title ' TCD LIB.' The Old Library was constructed in the 18th century and now houses 200,000 of the library's oldest books. The sculptor, Peter Scheemakers, was commissioned to carve 14 figures for the college's library, including Francis Bacon, William Shakespeare, Homer, Plato and Aristotle. Visible in the slide, is the Kavanagh Ivory Horn displayed in a glass case. Dating from the 12th and 15th century, it now resides in the National Museum.
