Description

Lantern slide of the Lady Chapel in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 II 1' and without a title. The chapel was built in 1270 by Archbishop Fulk de Saunford. It was common-place for chapels such as this to be built behind the high altar in dedication to the Virgin Mary. Their are chapels either side dedicated to St. Stephen and St. Peter. Archbishop Tregury of Dublin who died in 1472, has his tomb located in the chapel.
