Lantern Slide depicting a perspective view of O'Connell Street, formerly known as Sackville Street, and Gardiner's Hall. People and horses and carriagescan be seen in the print. In the left hand corner of the print can be seen a smoking chimney. The print is engraved with the following caption: 'Perspective View of Sackville Street and Gardiners Hall Dublin'. The caption then goes on to detail the length and breadth of the street: ' This street was begun by the Rth. Hon. Mr. Luke Gardiner Esq. in the year 1749, in length is 1050 foot and in breadth 150, being equally divided in three'. Originally catalogued as 'D3 VIII 92' with label 1753.
