Title

No. 40 Lower Dominick Street, Dublin City, Ireland

Description

Lantern slide of No. 40 Lower Dominick Street, Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 III 74' and with the title '40 Lower Dominick St.' The doorway is decorated in typical Georgian Style. It features 8 panels with a decorated semi-circular fan light above. There is an ionic column on either side of the door and also a rectangular window. This is all topped by a broken pediment. The first development of Dominick St. was commissioned by Sir Christopher Dominick in the 1720s where he built himself a house. After his death his wife was responsible for the further developments of lots and called this new street 'Dominick Street.'
