Beskrivelse

Lantern slide of 38 North Great Georges St., Dublin. Originally labeled 'D3 III 54' and with the title '38 Nth Gr Georges St.' No. 38 was built in 1785 by Charles Thorpe. The house was later occupied by Prof John Pentland Mahafy, who was a tutor to Oscar Wilde (this is where it gets the name Mahaffy House). The slide shows the red brick facade of the building with its impressive doorway. The door is topped by a large fanlight and under that a cornice supported by ionic columns. There is also two sidelights at either side of the door.
