Lantern slide of a capital of a pillaster at St. Molaise's House, Devenish Island, Co. Fermanagh. Originally labeled '67 F' with title 'St. Molaise's House Devenish. Capital of Pilaster.' Pictured is of a carved stone tht forms the top of the pilaster located within the church. Known as a capital, it is moulded and decorated with spirals and an interlace pattern. This site was founded by St. Molaise in Lower Lough Erne in the 1st century A.D. On the site is a 12th century round tower and a small church dedicated to St Molaise which dates from the 12th or 13th century. These images have been found in the JRSAI, 7th Series, Vol. 5, 1935.
