Description
Lantern slide of a cross slab inscription, Killadeas, Co. Fermanagh. Originally labeled '56 F' with title 'Killadeas II.' This inscription is locatedabout 6 inches above the greek cross that is also carved into the the north face of the stone. The inscription is terribly defaced and can be loosly translated as "A Blessing upon Art U Lurcain." The use of the word "Bendacht" is generally used when a person is still living. This may suggest that Art U Lurcain may be either the sculptor or the person who commissioneed the piece. See JSRAI, Seventh Series, Vol. 5, pp. 23-33
