Carved Stone Fragment, Galoon Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland

Subject

Sculpture

Description

Lantern slide of a piece of fragmented sculpted stone, Galoon, Co. Fermanagh. Originally labeled '45 F'' and without a title. Behind the fragment, the base of one of the High Crosses can be seen. Perhaps this piece of sculpture was once part of the cross and has fallen off due to harsh weathering. This piece in paticular looks like it could have been one of the arms of the cross. It is visibly decorated but the details are unclear.
