Description
Lantern slide of a group of currach on a beach somewhere on the Aran Islands, Co. Galway. Originally labeled '99 G' with title 'Currachs. Aran.' A number of Currachs are located on the beach and are being prepared for sailing. There are numerous people setting up on the beach, including a photographer. Perhaps a race is about to take place. The currach is a traditional Irish wooden boat that was lined with animal hides or skin. These types of boats are unique to the west of Ireland.
