Opis
Lantern slide of a window at Annaghdown Cathedral Co. Galway. Originally labeled ' 41 G' with title 'Annaghdown.' The site was founded sometime after 1195 when it was granted to the Canons Regular of St Augustine. At present there remains a nave, chancel and church. Its E gable contains a robbed window (pictured) which some authorities believe to be the original location of the Romanesque window presently in the 'cathedral'. The window has a round head with the jambs intricately carved with triangular panels. The have floral motifs which are bound by beading. There is a snake like beast at the terminal of the jambs.
