Description

Lantern slide of O'Connell Bridge, Dubin. Originally labeled 'D3 78' and without a title. The bridge was originally designed by James Gandon between 1794 and 1798. In 1880 it was widened and its semi circular arches were replaced with semi elliptical . It was renamed in 1882 after Daniel O'Connell along with the unvailing of his statue. The statue is visible in the distance which was designed by John Henry Foley.
