Lantern slide of Fame, stucco ceilng in the small drawign room of the St Stephen's Green Club, Dublin. Originally labelled 'D3 46' with title 'St Stephen's Green Club'. The 'club' is currently referred to as the St Stephen's Green Hibernian Club, founded in 1840. The building itself was built c. 1756 for the Rev. Cutts Harman, Dean of Waterford. The stucco work which covers the interior of the building has been attributed to Filippo Lafranchini in the late 1750's. The slide shows Fame in the smaller drawing room. The piece has been arranged in four episodes around a great winged figure of Fame, who reclines with her attendant putti on clouds.The figures surrounding Fame include WIsdom; with her mirror and serpent, Mercury; with putti bearing caduceus and pouring coins and fruits upon the earth, and the personification of liberty.
