Lantern slide of a floor plan of Newgate Prison, Dublin City. Originally labeled 'D3 30' and without a title. The plan is titled 'June 1782 Newgate Prison' and lables surrounding strrets such as New Market, Corn Market and 'Cut Purse Row'. It also labels A to C; Guard-room; Governor's Room; and Shop with condemned fellons' cell over it. The plan outlines the original location of the prison near Christ Church Cathedral. Between 1773 and 1781, a new design forthe prison was created by Thomas Cooley. It was located then to present day Smithfield where is remained until its closure is 1863. It is unclaer as to what this plan was used for.
