IT IS SITUATED IN A FIELD ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE RIVER DEE IN THE PARISH OF ST MARY IN THE CITY OF CHESTER. IT IS COMMONL CALLED EDGARS CAVE OWING (AS IS SUPPOSED) TO KING EDGAR BEING ROWE FOM NEAR THIS SPOT, TO THE MONASTERY OF ST JOHN BY EIGHT TRIBUTARY KINGS A.D. 955-7
